A Personal Story

After I worked in industry for over two years, I realized that I was getting bored with the same routine. I worked with consultants on a project and decided to give consulting a try. I’ve been with BCG for over four and a half years now and can't imagine another place to work.

Consulting gave me a chance to try different jobs at the same time—each project was from a different industry, on a different topic that I had never worked on before. I could never have imagined before that I’d be developing a strategy for a symphony orchestra! With these experiences, having worked on multiple cases, I finally could understand my potential and discover what really interested me. This need for constant development and growth, the adrenaline of being challenged by your team, and working with executives from companies that top the rankings cannot be found anywhere else.

Background

Ekaterina joined BCG's Moscow office in 2004 and has worked mostly on projects in Industrial Goods and Energy practice areas on topics ranging from strategy development to organizational design.

Ekaterina graduated from Moscow State University for International Relations with a Bachelor of Economics degree and an Economist in Economics degree, both with distinction. Prior to that, Ekaterina worked for one of Russia’s leading mining and metallurgical companies, Norilsk Nickel, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions, as well as other strategic issues.

I have a clear career path in front of me and BCG is a key building block to that end.

A Personal Story

After a career in a technical field in the U.S., I decided that in the long term I wanted to be an entrepreneur in my home country of Azerbaijan. This is why I did an MBA and joined BCG Moscow. While at BCG, you learn all the skills that a future entrepreneur would need—from doing rigorous analysis to being able to prioritize tasks when needed; from learning to listen to gifted colleagues around you to leading teams of motivated people; from developing relationships of trust with a client to presenting to top executives at large multinational companies. All of these aspects of life at BCG help you to achieve personal growth whilst working with highly motivated and gifted professionals. I have a clear career path in front of me and BCG is a key building block to that end.

Background

Rza Nuriyev joined the Moscow office of BCG in 2007. His interests include Energy, Telecommunications, Industrial goods and Financial Services practice areas. Before BCG, he worked as a system design expert at Nortel Networks in Dallas. He has an MBA from INSEAD, a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as mathematics and electrical engineering BS degrees from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey. He spent a year in the London office of BCG.

I can say that at BCG I have been able to choose the path I wanted to take.

A Personal Story

At BCG each and every one of our profiles is unique and that means we all have different ambitions. BCG is committed to respecting them and supporting us as we reach for them.

When I finished my degree I wanted to work somewhere that offered me the possibility of getting to know different sectors. BCG gave me that opportunity, with the rotation option between projects and its strong presence in all areas.

Now, after working in energy, industry, and banking, I can say that BCG has always respected my sector and geographic preferences. At BCG I have been able to choose the path I wanted to take.
