The Boston Consulting Group has been active in the Russian market since 1990. At that time, the majority of BCG projects in Russia were dedicated to economic reforms in different branches of the Russian economy. Our client list comprised, for the most part, international organizations, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and commercial companies. In 1994 we opened the Moscow office to be closer to our clients in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
During a decade of significant growth, BCG Moscow attained a leading position in management and strategy consulting in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, which are among the world’s most dynamic emerging markets. With more than 60 consultants permanently working in our office in addition to 10 to 15 consultants from other offices working as experts on projects in this market, BCG Moscow offers world-class consulting services to leading Russian and international corporations.
In 2007—at the initiative and through the efforts of the Moscow office—the company’s representation in Ukraine was opened, which instantly became the leader in the market. Shortly afterwards, the BCG CIS system was established to serve international clients entering or present in the CIS markets, as well as for the largest local companies.
